Car-free planning and live checks
Arnhem Centraal is the rail anchor, about five minutes' walk from the city centre according to Visit Arnhem; the park entrance is not at the station. Without a car, the park's FAQ sends travellers via Arnhem to the Ingang Otterlo bus stop, while its accessibility page recommends Schaarsbergen or Hoenderloo over the busier Otterlo. Late at night NS runs an extra late train from Utrecht, and night bus 806 links Arnhem and Nijmegen only on Saturday-to-Sunday nights. Check bus, bike, accessibility and the final return with the park and transport operator.
- Recheck the live journey planner, engineering work and the final connection shortly before travel; timetables and access are not fixed editorial facts.

Plan the morning and evening
First block
Sleep around Arnhem Centraal and the centre for a city evening and an early start, or near Sonsbeek and Klarendal for the park or Modekwartier; check slopes and the walk to the exact address.
Second block
Give the second day to a museum route or De Hoge Veluwe with one entrance fixed in advance. Choose the northern city edge only if the bus or bike link to that entrance works; Otterlo or Hoenderloo are separate village bases when the park day is the main purpose.
04
Use it as a base — but not by default
Day one: arrive by rail, choose the centre or Sonsbeek/Modekwartier as the main route and keep the evening in Arnhem. Day two: choose a museum route or De Hoge Veluwe with one entrance fixed in advance. Recheck park admission, tickets and transport live.

Before you book
Decide whether the first morning begins in the city, at a museum or at a park entrance. Compare the exact address with station, stop and entrance. Check dates, terms, price and availability live.
